JD does have a great reputation. Have you considered Pfitzinger? Check out his book 'Advance Marathoning'. It has several different schedules from which to choose. It's also a great read because it gives you the 'how's and why's' and not just a plan.
I've followed a Pfitz plan for all of my marathons with decent success. I'm thinking of shaking it up for my next, but have no problem recommending you look into his stuff.
