I really am unsure if operating at a deficit and doing NROL is right for me right now. But I am going to finish Fat Loss I and see how I fare. Might try some of leigh's stuff after this.

Why would you not be sure? A gazillion people did NROL and had great success.
I see comments about not doing NROL or Turbulence Training or whatever program in a deficit and don't get it. I think I know what they mean, but they aren't saying it right.
You probably can't do NROL or TT in a 1000 calorie a day deficit and get away with it, but at your height, weight, etc, you can do 500 and be fine. That's about a 1lb a week lost.
Bottom line is that people who lose weight on NROL are always in a deficit. Always. They might not be in one based on some formula, but if they are losing weight, they are burning more than they take in. That's the definition of a deficit, and their formula was wrong. Most formulas are wrong, since they are just ways of estimating.
I know you stalled or didn't experience the rate of loss that you hoped, so drop calories a bit and keep on going.
I did TT (which is just about as demanding as NROL) and lost 1-2 a week on a decent deficit.
Have fun!
