Every year about this time I start thinking about some sort of fitness goal I should reach by my birthday. In the past I've done CrossFit's "Murph", the 300 Workout and last year's failed attempt at CrossFit's "Linda". Since I bought a slightly used Concept 2 Rower this year, I decided on trying to finish a Rowing Marathon, 42,195 meters. I have no idea how rowing geeks arrived at that number, but that's the goal. Looking at the C2 site I see that 3:00:00 is a pretty good time for old bastards like myself. So here goes, a marathon in 112 days, if I don't kill myself before my 53rd birthday, July 12th.
