No, he's an orthopedist, not a chiropractor. He just said to do what I want, and if it gives me pain, then back off.

But, I've been reading the injuries forum here and have seen some great advice on stretching and exercises for knees that I am going to incorporate.
I spent about an hour playing on my Wii again yesterday and then about 15 minutes foam-rolling and today it feels pretty good.
