Sounds more triceps to me ... if it were golfer's elbow, grasping/gripping would hurt typically.

Ice it.
You could also deep massage it (the sore spot) for less than 5 minutes at most every other day.
Ice it some more.
A few tricep stretches wouldn't hurt either.
