I've got narrow feet mostly, except for the big toe that juts out. For this reason, whenever I put them on for regular workouts with an Olympic lift at the start, I prefer taking them off as soon as the big lifts are done (squatting & DLs also are a bit better with them) and get into my more comfy regular gym shoes that have more 'give' to them.
Keeping them on for over 1 hr definitely gets painful.
