Default Ducktape and outdoors

Duck tape has a multitude of uses for outdoors activities including repairing equipment, bandaging cuts (be sure you wrap around cloth) and shelter construction. In addition to the typical usage of duck tape it also serves as excellent tinder. It holds a flame similar to a candle. My nine year son thought of another reason duct tape is valuable to the outdoor enthusiast. It is excellent for trapping magnesium shavings from magnesium flint fire starter. When the wind is blowing it is difficult to keep the shavings from scattering. The solution is scratch the shavings on to the sticky side of duct tape. Even better attach the duck tape to cotton balls. The combo of the shavings, duck tape and pertroleum jelly soaked cotton balls light real easy.
