Right on! My experience is similar. I struggled with 200 meters, then jumped to 800 & 1400 without much problem. Jumps like that scare me and I want to make sure I don't get an overuse injury like swimmer's shoulder, so I backed back down for a bit. I like slow progressions for safety reasons. But it sure feels good to smash through barriers!
