Ok... things have been super crazy for me at work this week, add EXTREME soreness from my new OLY lifting class last saturday and you've got one tired girl!

So... some background is in order I guess. I was always a skinny kid, then I had kids! I was never massively overweight, but 185 was the final straw for me. I went vegetarian and got down to 155 and a (tight) size 13. A few years later, I started doing Body for Life when a friend of mine brought the book over and said "do you think these before/afters are real?" I told her we should find out and we committed to a 12 week challenge. That's when the 'fitness' bug hit me.

Fast forward a couple of years, I competed in figure in 2003... not quite where I needed to be weight wise, but 60 lbs down from my highest weight!!! I placed dead last out of 12 girls. I didn't really enjoy the quarter turn/lucite heel experience and wanted to do bodybuilding instead. Everybody I knew told me, you're not muscular enough, those BB girls will tear you up on stage, your physique is more built for figure... so I took my competition dreams and put them aside.

Fast forward again to 2007, not much more muscular than I was in 2003, but I decided to do it anyways. I was the same weight as my first show... looked TONS better! I was shooting for the light weight class and missed it by 1/4 lb. I was the only person in my class and brought home a trophy. There was 1 lightweight competitor and she took the overall. I LOVED the experience! Had a blast and enjoyed doing my routine!

Of course, that was September of 2007, right before the holidays and right before my caribbean cruise and I'm not sure I've stopped eating junk since!

So, there ya have it... that's why I joined this challenge... cuz I'd like to find myself somewhere in between the current body and the body of Sept. 2007.
