Regardless of the intent of the thread starter (who I give the benefit of the doubt to judging by his/her activity in other threads), I appreciate everyone's input and hope this thread keeps lighting up.

Me personally - no experience yet. I'm 3 weeks away from starting a direct mail campaign to promote my group fitness classes. For the most part, the cost is pretty low per person depending on the piece you're sending out. For the pieces I'll be sending out it will roughly be a dollar per piece. Sure most people throw them away, but I'm hoping for a 1 percent response rate. Sounds crappy on paper, but with that response rate I break even within the first month of the client signing up for the program. Time will tell.
