Incidentally, I recently learned spam generates about 1 actual sale for every 12.5 million emails sent. Seems like long odds, but apparently someone's making money somehow.

The secret to spamming success is not to have a good hit rate, it's to be believable to your customer. Fastest Fat Loss guy isn't spamming, someone's spamming for him. Spammers are telling their customers (Faster Fat Loss guy) that they will have a huge hit rate, not 1 in 12.5 million. They charge the guy for the service, it doesn't really pan out, and they move on to another Fat Loss guy in a few months. Voila.
That's email SPAM, not this stuff. I'm sure this stuff has a better hit rate, but probably not here.
