When I first got my scale I played with it.
Weighed self. Three or four times in a row. Wait 10 mins. Weigh again 2-3 times.
All within a good margin of error - a few tenths if any difference.
Drank 1 pint water (1 pint weighs 1 pound).
Weighed again - went up 1 pound as expected.
Weigh a 2 lb DB. Weigh self. Weigh self with DB. All as expected.
Now, it will weigh a little different if you move it on the floor - but I think that is my floor rather than the scale.
