I actually mix up a pre workout drink with about 10g Protein and 30g of Carbs and drink it 5-15 min before my workout. Also mix up another drink the same way and drink it throughout my workout. Each one is mixed with about 16oz of water. The water seems to be an adequate amount during my workout and its pretty easy to carry around. I just have to work on finding a larger bottle for my PWO drink that right now has twice the mix in the same amount of water.
