I know what you are talking about. However, the cafeteria at my University also had cold cut meats like turkey, ham, and chicken. Does your's have a deli section?
Also I would think it probably has a salad bar that might also have cottage cheese? Some people hate the stuff, but I love it and it is a great source of whey and casein protein, and even better when you are bulking. 1 cup has about 30g of protein.
Another idea is to buy chicken in bulk from the grocery store. I recently found chicken for about $2.78/lb, which a pretty good deal, considering that 8 oz has around 40g of protein. If you know someone that has a Sam's Club membership and there is one in your area, then see if you can go with them sometime and stock up.
