I took a 5 week course in mindfulness meditation a few years ago. Here are some things I learned:
~It's not about going to some transcendental place...it's about being here, now.
~it's not about zoning out or Zen or anything mysterious, it's about paying attention, noticing, being alert and receptive and accepting
~it's about letting go of thoughts, not pushing them out.
~yoga *is* a form of meditation. It rests your mind. You are paying attention to your body and your breathing and you are in the moment (good thing, or you'd fall on your a$$)
