I'm pretty sure that the only thing "egg-beaters" add in is some yellow dye for a nice eggy color. But IMHO they still don't taste as good as a regular home scrambled egg.
But really dude...We're talkin' about cracking eggs here. Why worry about it. Just crack em' every morning and there ya' go.
But I don't know about an eggs "shelf life" either...sorry.
