Default Bar torque on squat

Starting Strength says the bar is higher for olympic lifters. This, I think makes their backs be straighter, which relaxes some of the hamstrings and hip adductors and makes for more quad dominant and ultimately "weaker" squat, right?

What is the point of doing it this way. I'm trying to figure which will be better for sports specific training like football or vertical leap in volleyball.

I put the bar lower on my back and my squat must of went up 40 pounds.

Any thoughts on this yall?
