Once synthetic fabrics get funky, they funky. There's no unfunkin' it. That's been my experience, anyway.

I had a few shirts that got a mildew smell from hanging out in the bottom of the hamper. Dry, they were fine, but a bit of heat and sweat and it wasn't good. I got rid of them after trying multiple washing tips. Now, I let them dry before tossing them into the hamper. Seems lame, but there it is.
