NASM seems to be the third most respected org, after ACSM/NSCA, so I definitely want to get one of their credentials down the road.
The rationale behind doing CES/PES is that it's a specialized certification and it looks better on paper than simply racking up multiple CPT's.
Lack of updates doesn't concern me at all - human physiology hasn't changed within the past decade.
