Bluenoser... I hate to rain on your parade, but probably one of the biggest wastes of supplement money is chromium picolinate. It is somewhat effective as a glucose dipsosal agent, so it may be helpful for getting into ketosis faster if you are on a ketogenic diet, which I don't recommend anyway. Your best bet on supps is to get a good protein supp, like whey, and a good multivitamin (get in in capsule form if you want it to break down). Those are the only things usually neglected in most people's diets (whether they realize it or not). Other than that I am pretty old school, favoring a nutritious diet.
