Nope,
Marathon Oil Corporation didn't give me anything. :P
Irvine is about 50 miles farther from my home than Carlsbad, so it'd be about another $15 in gas round trip, so the entry fees will about wash. And not to mention that I wouldn't have to get up really early or get a hotel to go to Carlsbad. Reviews of Carlsbad are here:
Carlsbad Marathon - Race Details
The race's website gave an elevation map, it looks like it's decently hilly but not too bad.
The Irvine website wasn't working.
I'm definitely looking forward to
La Jolla Half Marathon, 5K & 5-Mile Stride in La Jolla, CA . I live near the start, but it's point to point so when I was done I'd be 10 miles from the finish with no car!
