Wierd JP...I've had that type of pain in the past as well. For me, it usually goes away as quickly as it comes. NSAIDs don't do very much to dull it either. I just keep praying it isn't some degenerative hip disease (a la Bo Jackson). But it is very infrequent (maybe once or twice a year) and doesn't appear to be getting worse, so I always guess it is some injury (kind of the way a metatarsal (?) in your foot will start to hurt and you limp around for a day or two with no idea of how you hurt it).
Anyway, I had nothing substantial to add, except that you aren't the only one who has this type of unexplained pain pop up.
