It's been years since I hiked in those states and most of them were more of backpacking trips. I would normally say somewhere in the shenandoahs but as urban creep from DC has headed that way, you might be better off in WV. I used to go backpacking in the Dolly Sods/Roaring Plains areas which is just beautiful. You might look for B&B's in that area. Wish I could be more help which really means I wish I'd been hiking there recently.
