My own inspiration
I've read through a few logs and decided it was time to start one of my own. Pretty much for my own motivation. I'm starting NROLW. Actually just complete B1 today.
So here's my story in a nutshell. From IL, and not Chi-town, more central IL. Overweight since a child. Pretty much on a diet since childhood. At my heaviest, starting grad school at age 22, I'd have to guess that I was around 260-270. Quit weighing myself, couldn't handle it. Wore size 24. It wasn't pretty, and I felt horrible. After returning from a terrible internship (where I medicated with food), I got a physically demanding job and dropped down to 200. Then I did a modified Adkins diet, high protein, low carb and have gotten down to 175. Pretty much went through he-hockey sticks in 2002 with the sudden passing of my father from leukemia (we knew he was sick for only a few days). And having to move home to take care of mom (she was in a wheelchair because of her own physical problems.) I pretty much dedicated myself to taking care of her and then myself. Starting hitting the treadmill walking and running. Did some weights, although didn't have the necessary equipment to do much good. I've had a total change in thought and action in my life, for the better. I'm a better person on the inside now than what I was then. I can't explain it other than I am who I thought I would never end up being about 10 years ago. I never dreamed that I would be this weight. And now I realize that I can be even better and am doing this because I am proud of myself.
I know that I can do this. I know that I can achieve the best me possible.
Right now, I'm 31 years old, 5'11". 177.5 lbs (scale) or 172 (wii fit). I guess I'll have to say the scale is closer, even though I like the lower number, lol. My BMI is 24.25 according to wii fit, which is barely average. I'm a bigger build girl. I already have a lot of muscle on me from my active life of cycling and golf. I'm happy with myself, coming from where I started out and losing somewhere around 80-90 lbs already. But I see areas on my legs, stomach, arms, butt, that I want tightened. I have a slight muffin top starting and I HATE it. I'd like to get down around 155 by Dec 31, 2008.
My title is because I dedicate this to myself. I've done everything for everyone else and now it's my time. I have other reasons for this and these are very personal. I need something to focus on, something to dream towards. My life is hectic and I have some issues to deal with. I need a calming influence, a routine, and some inspiration.
Workout 1A
Squat 1x15x40 (just the bar) 1x15x60
pushup- 2x15
seated row- 1x15x100 1x15x120
step up- left side 15lbs, then 25. right side both sets at 25lbs.
prone jacknife---did them all then a few extra. did these a lot before starting program
Next day soreness--actually got more sore as the day went on, just upper arms. Bruises on upper shoulders from squats with bars. I bruise so easily, so will just have to grin and bear it. Was still able to golf, which I was concerned about. Went for a 25 minute bike ride after golf, felt good. Weird thing, according to scale, dropped 2lbs. See if it stays. Wonder if losing water weight because of change to higher protein diet??
Workout 1B
Deadlift 2x15x90
Dumbell Shoulder Press 2x15x15
Wide grip lat pulldown 1x15x70 (felt like had bad form) 1x15x60 (better)
Lunge 1x15x20 1x15x25 may have tweeked hamy? felt awkward doing these need to work on form.
Swiss ball crunch-1x8x10 1x15x25 (I know, too many, but felt good) did these a lot before, so used to them.
Feel free to critique or anything, I look forward to hearing from people.
