I listen to music - usually - when at the gym to drown out the stuff they're piping in. Sometimes it is oldies, which I can tolerate, sometimes it is urban stuff, once it was country, another time it was religious music.
My gym has a broadcast option for the TVs...if you have a radio you tune it to the frequency and listen. At my old gym they had sportcenter BLARING constantly. I can handle some sports, but sports 24/7? No.
