I find that listening to good tunes 30 minutes before training helps get in the mood.
If I'm gonna hit the heavy bag I may watch a couple of MMA fights on video with the sound off and some hiphop or rock.
Messing with a portable player in the gym got to be troublesome but psyching up for some intense training with music really does help.

Working "hard," or the perception of working hard, doesn't really mean anything. Sweating, vomiting, and breathing hard could be a good workout or a tropical disease kicking in.-Dan John
