Yes, I think the major player here is having most of the food prepared by me. Tonight was an exception as it was book club, but I had steamed veggies with hunan sauce (which isn't as bad as it sounds, since it's really more of a liquid than a sauce) for dipping.

I did thanks - went to a family party and had a great time. (I had some salad with what tasted like italian dressing, cherry tomatoes and almonds - I quite liked it - a chicken breast with a spice rub, that was sitting in a tray of what looked like gravy/sauce but was more of a liquid - that went well with the salad, and diet coke. Yes, I had no alcohol.

Hopefully your 4th was enjoyable as well.
