Hi! Hi! Hi!
Julie: HILLS!!! It makes sense when someone points it out. We don't go on big hills, but the trail is an old railroad bed and it's got a grade going most of the time. And, yes, sadly it IS still winter here. j/k! I'll need to update that soon.
Major doms going on STILL! As dh said "what did you expect when you finally lifted some real weights?" My quads are screaming, but it's good and I'm happy with the pain. I'll take it now rather than later (I hope). My mom (almost 66) fell the last few stairs into their basement last week and sprained her ankle. She's so weak that she can't lift the crutches so she's renting a wheelchair. Sad. (of course, she says that once she gets back to Curves, she'll get her strength back)
The closest movie theatre is having free movies on Tues mornings all summers. It's about 2 miles each way and I've told the kids we can go, but we're biking there. DD is still on a gearless bike (she's just not quite tall enough for a "real" bike) so the hills are a struggle, but she's a trooper -- tears streaming down her face and all (she turned 8 on Sun but she's still only about 50#) DS is raring to go like mad so he struggles with waiting at busy intersections for us to catch up. Today we saw "Racing Stripes."
I'm on my way to the gym in a few to get a good workout in. Dh suggested light weights and heavy reps since I'm pained. I think I'll do dbs and some single arm/leg stuff too. We're going out of town for a few days so I'll start a new program once that blurp is out of the way.
And, my happy for the day is that we're getting a new roof (thank you Allstate) A few weeks ago we had a nasty hail storm. It looked like snow. My van looks like Animal (muppets) had a fun fest on the hood & roof. I guess the house's roof is messed up too. I'd never seen hail like that in my life. Probably 10 min steady and about nickel to quarter sized. Some was still on the ground the next morning.
