It depends on the person.

In the past, I've gone low carb while active and been OK. Now, I find it really hard.

It CAN work; try it! It might suck the first little bit, but hey, it's only a week or so maybe until you adjust. Then the energy should come back. But if it doesn't, then add in some carbs on training days.

There is no magic bullet or holy grail; nothing is perfect right on day one. You've got to experiment, but you've also got to stick with stuff a bit to truly see and learn. The lower carb stuff takes some adaptation/time for many people, but that doesn't mean it's bad/won't work.

If anything is worth trying, try it for a month, not just a day or two. It's only a month.
