I'm not sure it's that big a difference, honestly. While the thermic effect of food (protein typically gets the love here) is real, it's not very big. Our bodies can turn
any macro into bodyfat stores during a big caloric surplus.
And you're right, some people can easily get fat on "healthy" foods. Too much of anything is still too much.
