Treadmill: total 25 minutes, same as this morning -- warmup/cooldown at 3.0-3.5 mph and then 4:1 splits of 5.5 mph and 3.0 mph. Total of 1.86 miles this evening. (Same for this morning but forgot to write it.)
Also did a 30-minute stretching session this afternoon to try and further work out the kinks in me. Followed up by a couple of hours of light outside chores.
Notes:
1. I put my crap shoes back on for this evening's run, just to compare to the new shoes. My toes on my right foot got a little tingly midway through it but never got numb like this morning and earlier this week. I assume it's from the stretching but I'll be experimenting with the different shoes and more stretching tomorrow to make sure.
2. I'm going to annoy the everloving crap out of you guys by logging my daily activity/movement. Now that it's hotter-than-hell season, I tend to sit on my ass more than I should. I'm making a concerted effort for the month of June to increase, increase, increase my everyday activity level.
3. I'm thinking I may have to break my running into separate events like I did today until the heat breaks in the fall. Man, it sucks. My resps and HR are just fine but I'm on fire and my face feels like it's going to melt off into my bra after 20 minutes. And it's only going to get hotter. Bleh. I'll have to play it by ear, I guess.
4. I've moved my running up from 5.0 mph to 5.5 mph this week and it's fine -- no real increase in perceived difficulty. I'll keeping eeking it up a bit now and then and eventually be able to beat the old people in my next race. (Take that, Sherman the schnauzer!) I'm thinking I might want to run the Mud Run in LR again this fall. We had a blast at it last year!! (I was part of the 5-person genetically modified cow if any of you were there.)

With the new shoes, do you tie them tighter? From what the guy at my local shoe store said you should be able to get a finger under the laces. If not they are too tight. Just a thought
