I've been carbing up the night before a workout day since about a year.
It's helped tremendously with falling asleep on a tryptophan -high after a low-carb day.

Lowcarbing makes you alert, precisely because of waht they write: higher tyrosine levels. Great to be alert in the infamous post lunch mid-afternoon dip.
Not so great to be fully awake after a high protein meal w/o carbs added to them. Some are more sensitive to this effect than others. I'm one of them.

So, rather than eating carbs post-workout, I'm having them a day earlier. Feels good. Performance has been good as long as I don't forget to do this.
