Mornin' ladies (and gents).

I'm taking today off from working out. I have a big belt-test in karate tomorrow and they are going to try to destroy us both physically and mentally... so I need to be relatively fresh for it. I'm pretty nervous - my prep hasn't been what it usually is (because of the dojo moving and grand-opening, we didn't have as much practice time on weekends)... our school always has people failing tests, and I haven't - yet - so I have to accept that it's a possibility. If I fail, I just have to try harder next time and figure out where I wasn't strong enough. I don't know anyone who made it to black-belt without failing at least one belt test, and I only have 2 tests left before black-belt...

I'm NERVOUS . My conditioning is as good as it's going to be (done less cardio than usual, but strength is good)... it's just a matter of not passing out and remembering everything and looking stronger than last time and not getting hurt.

I also wanted to tell you I didn't find the B workout on stage 3 all that challenging either. I wear a heart rate monitor and it didn't get my heart up nearly as high as previous workouts. You are not alone. I will check back to see if you come up with any more ideas on how to make it a little more challenging. (I also didn't rest the recommended time.)

We always have ice cream because my kids demand it. They are both quite lean and fit and active, so I don't deny them (plus my DH would just buy it anyway!)... sometimes it calls to me, which is ok IF I've allowed for it in my day. But yesterday there was no room for it .

I didn't eat the ice cream last night, but I did still overeat again in calories - I probably shoulda just had the ice cream and been done with it. Instead, I ate a "healthy" snack but I think I ended up with more overal kcals than if I'd just had a small ice cream serving.

Beesknees - the only thing that helped was supersetting, but I guess I can't love all the workouts, right? Since we do tons of pushups in karate, I decided not to add any more to the main workout, for now...

I'm not looking forward to 5B because I just don't like 3B. I will continue to superset though... 2 mins after a superset isn't as bad as 2 mins after EVERY exercise!

I wish you were in Ohio too!!!
You sound like my mom with the ice cream. We had a "disagreement" -- I wanted her to give my kids healthy after-school snacks (back when they were younger and she helped out). She said ice cream was healthy because it's milk. I KNOW she never thought that when I was a kid!

Oh and btw... If you are not losing any lbs and your workouts feel strong chances are really, really good that you are eating at mantainence right now or better. (wink)
Thanks Karla... I'm still debating the bodybugg - will continue to for a little while, I guess... I don't have a good way to measure my bf regularly (I have a friend at work do it, but I can't "abuse" that privilege).

LOL about the maintenance eating... I just want to get an idea of where I need to be once and for all, and then not feel guilty about eating what I should. When I go a little over on kcals, I want to know if it's because my body is pushing me to eat at maintenance and I was trying to starve it, or if I am just being a pig, stop eating and suck it up
