I would add to this that perhaps for a consumer of my generation ( perhaps demographic group would be more appropriate), the use of the long ad, removes any impression of quality that negates the high price as a indicator of quality.
But I am not sure what demographic group this is targeting. I can only say for myself, it means I would not be likely buy a product from there for a number of reasons, one of which is the long ad approach.
