This thread threatened to turn into an Alwyn bash. I'm hoping it does not.
As JP asserted, there are many ways to get it done, but as we begin to learn the truth and not rely so much on anecdotal evidence, the number of correct or efficient ways become fewer and you're likely to see overlap in some ideas.
There's also the discovery vs. invention idea.
