Just finished up my workout and went into it hungry. Doh! Stir-fry is going on the stove right now.
#1 Starting Strength A:
Squat: 1 x 10 x BW, 1 x 5 x 45#, 1 x 5 x 50#, 5 x 5 x 55#. More improvement tonight on the wrist-shoulder thing but still needs more work.
Bench Press: 1 x 5 x 45#, 1 x 5 x 55#, 5 x 5 x 75#. I need to talk to hubby about lowering the bench press safeties on the Orgasmatron (or raising the bench) because I can't get the bar quite to chest level without clanking the safeties. That makes me flinch and wobbly and it ain't good. Or maybe I can just pad the safeties. Hm...
Deadlift: 1 x 5 x 75#, 1 x 5 x 135#, 5 x 5 x 145#. Working to make sure my arms are dead and I dead set it at the bottom of each rep.
Notes:
1. So this is my first official Starting Strength workout, straight from the book. I am loving the simple thing -- it's going to really let me concentrate on form without worrying about the fancy-pants moves. As you can see, I'm starting way low on the weights but I'll get up in the numbers again. I'm going to take it slow and steady on the increases to make sure I don't slip any on form as I go.
2. Why can some genius who loves boobs not invent a sports bra that 1) is comfortable to wear, 2) firmly secures the floppage, and 3) is easy to get on and off?! I'm now shrunk down to a C cup so was falling way out of my other bra (that you poor people have had to see me in each month). Now C is normal people territory so you'd think there'd be some good choices, right? Wrong! Argh. I bra shopped today and, let me tell you, I absolute HATE any kind of shopping for anything on even a good day. I ended up with two of them that are so-so but, really, someone needs to come up with a better sports bra -- that combines ALL three of the aforementioned qualities, rather than just one or two. Really.
