Lost Dog,

Thanks for the reply.

My current eating habits aren't even close to being good. When I said I never fully committed to proper nutrition, I should have said I never even slightly committed to it.

Until last week, I had spent the last seven months on a remote firebase in Afghanistan, so my food choices were very limited and not very good. When I'm home I generally try to avoid fried food and refined sugar, but that's it. I stay active enough that I don't really watch my calorie intake, other than going by the general rule that gorging on junk food is not a good thing.

The good news, I suppose, is that I've got lots of room for improvement and might see some dramatic results if I get my diet right.

I also meant to ask if anyone had any experience with a book that was recommended to me by a very strong friend. It's called "Power Eating" and from the reviews on Amazon is seems to be a pretty basic high-carb muscle building program. The writer doesn't seem to be part of the bodybuilding.com/T-Nation clique, so there's not so much information out there in the various forums, at least as far as I can tell.

Any other sports nutrition books out there with an emphasis on building muscle that I should know about, that maybe are under my radar since they aren't promoted on T-nation or bodybuilding.com? (Again, not saying the ones on those sights are bad.)

Thanks again.
