I've used both Britta and Pur for a faucet mount three stage water filter. I consider Pur to be the best by virtue of construction and the taste of the water that comes out.

The filters seem to last longer also.

Britta has Pur beat in the ease of changing filters/ For Britta's you just push a button to release the old cartridge and snap on the new one, whereas Pur requires you to unscrew a cap, pull the old cartridge out, insert a new and screw a cap back on.

Oh, Britta also has an idiot light, incase Pur's progress bar confuses you. Truthfully, I tend to change filters about 2/3-3/4 of the way into it, else it's just dribbling out.
