Thanks for the advice, Brent and Leah! I think I am going to try a barbell on my shoulders for the step-ups today. Hopefully that should help!
It's good to know that someone else had this problem, Leah. (I mean, I'm not glad that your hands were cramping, just glad I'm not a freak.

) For me, the hands are exhausted, but so are my wrists, and when I get back to my desk after a workout, they are very sore and a little swollen and I have veins all popped out.
