Along these same lines, I was told that if you are experiencing swelling (step in again, smart people and correct me, if this is wrong) after a workout that it means that blood is rushing to that area and that is a good thing.
Again, I don't know if this is true but I do get the swelling right after (especially on leg day) and then the next day I feel like the muscles look harder and stronger, but it could all be in my head.
