Question lunge-jumps? WTF?

So I did my first stage 3 workout the other day and I pushed myself pretty hard, so that by the time I got to the body weight matrix I was pretty damn tired. Regardless, though, I think I'd have issues with the lunge jumps, and I have done ballet and competitive highland dancing, which has some pleiometric characteristics.

So how are people doing these? I basically gave up - I did the squats and lunges and then after almost collapsing trying a few lunge jumps, did as many squat jumps as I could. Are you actually supposed to go all the way down into a full lunge AND get airborne as you switch legs? I can see MAYBE one or the other, but not both.
