Hello! Thanks for the support, it has really sucked but I'm glad I forced myself to take some time off, better safe than sorry!
On that note, I did get outside yesterday to take advantage of the beautiful weather. I didn't do anything strenuous, but did get in a couple good jogging/walking intervals. I paid really close attention to how I felt and was prepared to abort all activity at the first twinge of pain, but felt WONDERFUL doing something and woke up today feeling just fine! Today was my official release day, so I got up this morning and hit my sorely-missed gym. It felt so nice to work out, but I did take it a little easier than normal.
I think I am going to finish up Stage 3 of the NROL4W, but then take a break from the program and do a more muscle-specific program. I like the program, but don't feel like I'm getting the isolated failure I need to focus on to get the results I'm after. I will probably be incorporating some of the moves, but just wanted to post that for those of you following logs so you don't think I've gone off the reservation.
My other thing that I've been thinking about during this time off, is that maybe by incoporating some more cardio. in I can really take a hard approach to cutting through these last,
most stubborn fat stores. I've been doing the all-over approach with weight training and don't feel like I have the adequate energy and/or time for a serious cardio. effort, so I'm going to change things up for myself and see what happens! I'm also thinking by having dedicated days to weight and cardio., it is going to give me an easier direction with my diet.
Before we left for vacay at the end of Feb., I felt like I was such a good place with my diet and motivation levels for my workouts, and since returning, have not been able to find that balance. It's been so frustrating, and I'm still doing the work and watching the diet, it's just not feeling as mentally pulled-together and I'm not digging that feeling.
So, that's my rambling for today. There are a lot of you out there who I'm sure have been in this same place and maybe have some advice to share and I'm open to any and all suggestions!
