Today is the first day I'm going to exert myself at all. I decided to join the plant volunteer fire department this year and this afternoon is my first training drill. I am pretty nervous. Basically they are filling up this room in a basement with smoke and we have to go in and rescue the fire training dummy. They had me go in earlier since I'm new to the fire department. I'm not sure if it was the air pack digging into my shoulders or the plastic-y smell of the mask, but I feel nauseated. The last thing I want is to get sick during the drill! I didn't even have my bunker gear on and I was already sweating - it is going to be hot. Hopefully I will do okay.

20 minutes is probably longer than I would sit down for most meals. I'll have to think about that.
