What part of your arm went numb? What were you doing when it went numb? How old are you, if you don't mind me asking?

It is common for C6 injuries to radiate to the muscles of the back side of the forearm. So, with your palm to the floor bending your wrist to the ceiling might be weak, as well as you might have some weakness flexing your bicep. It is also common to experience some numbness down the thumb side of the forearm and into the thumb with this kind of injury.

Also, headaches are extremely common with any cervical spinal cord injury, so there probably is a connection there.

As to how you injured it, yes,there is good chance that gymnastics could have caused this. But it could also be from many other things. How is your posture, do you sit with your head forward?
