I'm guessing it all has to do with your goals. HIIT isn't just good for fat loss, it helps your body move the lactic acid out of your muscles faster so you can work out harder, and it increases your aerobic fitness. So HIIT once a week can help you with all your weight training goals.

If you do it more often, you'll probably lose more fat. If you stay at one a week, you'll probably put more emphasis on muscle building.

I know in Afterburn, Alwyn has people doing HIIT up to 5 x a week for 28 minutes each time.
