I know that marygrace is vegan and has been using pea protein. You can hop over to her training log

Also, you can use egg whites in place of protein powder when you mix it in food - like in oatmeal. Won't work for the protein shakes, but those are really just a convenient way to get protein after working out, and quickly. If you bring something else to eat right after working out that contains a lot of protein and some carbohydrates, you'll probably be okay.
