I liked the XScreams too. My last pair was Salomons and I'm preferential to the brand. This pair is supposed to be the '1 quiver ski'. As such, it's really really good in most everything, just not a specialist in anything.

When I skied it, the first day, I though the tips were getting bounced around a lot, but by the second day, I realized that it was punishing me for sitting back on the tails. Once I fixed my form, these things ripped. I mean, they like to go really really fast, high speed GS turns with zero skittishness. But the thing that really sold me was that they also performed well in the bumps (well, good enough to bring me back to bumps after a number of years away). That's a versatile ski. Plus it has a wide waist profile, wide enough for powder.

I'd recommend trying them if you are out there. It's got a full wood core, so it's very lively and puts back all the energy you give it (which is why it's so fast). I'm VERY picky about my skis and the way they perform and have been testing various models for the last few years... this one finally got me.
