Well, I hope I'm back in the saddle again. Let's see if I can overcome all these temporary setbacks I've had.

This morning was a great workout, upper body, at my gym. Cold morning, but I made it there and was full of energy!

My usual opening routine, followed by:

Rows: 3 sets of 10 x 60 lbs
Bench Press: 3 sets of 10 x 115 lbs
Pulldown: 3 sets of 10 x 80 lbs
Overhead Press; 2 sets of 10 x 40 lbs; 7 x 40 lbs (just couldn't do it!)
Flys: 3 sets of 10 x 30 lbs
Lateral Raise: 3 sets of 10 x 30 lbs

Followed by a few minutes of cool down on the cardio bike and some stretches, then that nice steamy hot shower.

Haven't been checking my fasting glucose levels, but I know I'm doing well. I'm sleeping all night long with no midnight trips to the bathroom, my thirst is ok, my moods are stable, etc etc. My diet has been clean (for the most part) with only a couple of slips....those chips and salsa, and the ice cream sunday; otherwise I've been doing good.

This has been a really bad, disappointing month for my challenge. I expect to see some set backs, since my workouts have been infrequent, due to my sickness, family sickness making it impossible for me to get to my gym some mornings, several mornings of freezing rain and cars with frozen door locks. March will be an all out balls-to-the-wall effort!

I am seeing some improvements in my triceps, and calves. Also outer quads are starting to become noticable when I'm showering right after my workout; good pump on those. Eating clean is becoming more of a habit now. AND.....most outstanding of all....perhaps my most significant development....my 9 year old son has started counting his fruits and veggies, and has started denouncing junk food! Since he has a lifetime ahead of him, this may very well be the most valuable thing to come out of this challenge, for me personally! To see that I have made an influence on him. Now....can it last???
