Got mine the other day after holding off because I thought it was like the 1st editon e-version, just updated. I should have read your marketing copy a bit closer - the book is amazing. In the first 24 hours, I tried 5 different recipes; at least 3 of them were "Outstanding" and even my young kids were digging in to my food and saying 'Yum'.

The copy and quality were excellent, surprising since I was expecting a hardcover and was surprised when I received the soft-bound book. But the quality is good and easy to use in the kitchen.

The introductory text seems useful for those unaware of PN principles. I like the pantry list.

The recipes tried so far are VERY tasty. The pics are great.

At $50 delivered, I initially thought that it was a little pricey, but then for 275 glossy pages in a coffee table quality book (and, yeah, the cover and pics are nice enough that my wife let's me leave it out in the kitchen) and not being on the NYT bestseller list so that volume will bring down price, it's not bad.

Overall, I'd say the book is top notch. It's already my favorite among all of the cookbooks we own. I'm considering buying more copies to give as gifts.

PS: JB, your site lists John Williams as one of the authors of this edition and I called him the other day to tell him I'd ordered his new book... he's probably going to hit you up for backpayments of royalties now.

PPS: I'm really looking forward to the distance genetic testing you recently talked about. Hoping you are able to keep that mid-08 launch date.
