from what i can tell no one has time to take care of themselves if you ask them. i work a lot, i have a wife that wants my time, i have obligations yet i am still at the gym, or at jiu jitsu or out running, biking and swimming. my wife is a nurse, she works usually between 50-70 hours per week. she works out 5 days a week and still has time to take care of what needs to be taken care of at home. i am in no way justifying making fun of anyone but i think its just as bad to make excuses for people and act as an enabler by trying to be so 'sympathietic'.
and with that in mind i don't think anyone was poking fun at these people anyway. it was merely noticing an all too common irony.
